Prairie Flyer Ramblings

April 23, 2010

Man, has it been that long?

Filed under: Uncategorized — fadman @ 10:15 pm

So, I actually got an email from a faithful reader and they said I should update this page, so here goes. First of all, I don’t know what’s going on with the schedule page but we’re working on it. I’m sorry if you’re not able to access it but hopefully it will be back up soon.

I’m not going to cover any medical procedures because I haven’t had any lately. Medical procedures that is. We are getting ready for the festival season which starts for us the second weekend in June down in Pasco, WA. We are performing at the Sacajawea Bluegrass Festival and Dutch Oven Campout that weekend and then at the Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival and Bavarian Beer Tour the next weekend. I just made that part up about the beer. Hopefully we will have the schedule page up by then and I don’t have to broadcast it over this channel.

We are on Facebook, that social media juggernaut that seems to threaten all of our privacy every day but hey, it’s a way of keeping up with your close friends and your distant friends, too. Johnny Winter, one of my blues heroes, sang a song that I’m sure he didn’t write but I don’t have time to look it up that says “Keep your close friends close and your enemies can’t do you no harm”. Wise words to live by if you ask me and I think it’s a paraphrasing of some writer like Mark Twain.

I guess the exciting news for me personally is that I am in the process of recording a solo CD. Mostly original folkie/bluegrass/Americana/country stuff with a Rolling Stones cover thrown in for good measure. It features Alex Hargreaves on fiddle and I mean to tell you that boy can play! I think it should actually be the Alex Hargreaves album with supporting vocals by Jim Faddis and others. I’m hoping it will be done by the first part of June. I hope you like it. We will be playing some of the tunes in the Prairie Flyer shows like Tell Me Once Again and One More Ride.

So I think that’s about it for now and I will try to visit this page more often, Jon.

Peace,
Jim
