What a Weekend!

Filed under: Uncategorized — fadman @ 7:47 pm

We started the weekend at Caffe Mela in Wenatchee. Chuck Egner volunteered to bring his bass down for the sound check and to possibly play the first part of the show in case Dave didn’t make it on time. As it turned out we didn’t need Chuck but I was still in full tilt worry mode because we trotted out about half dozen new songs, including some that we had never played in public. I think they were well received and we apppreciate the audience not throwing anything hard.
We then went to Chuck’s on Saturday morning to start recording a new CD with all of the new songs and others. We didn’t accomplish a lot due to time but got a good feel for the studio.
On to Maltby for the fundraiser that evening. I can’t say enough about the hospitality and kindnesses shown to us and the rest of the bands. The way the program was set up I actually got to watch Stay Tuned and thought they had some very clever tunes. Then we got to see most of Korby Lenker’s band, David Goliath and they put on a great show!
Then it was our turn and we had a great time. Hopefully we will get a DVD out of the show that was shot by my friend Terry O’Brien. More YouTube material if nothing else.

See ya down the road,
Jim

A Long Time

Filed under: Uncategorized — fadman @ 12:56 pm

Ok,

So I know it’s been a long time since I wrote anything here and the last post was kind of a downer but hey!The weather is getting warmer and I’ve actually played on my front porch within the last two weeks, which to me is the sure sign of Spring.

We’ll be adding a few new shows this week so check back soon for that info. I can tell you that one will be in Tillamook, Oregon and the other in Ephrata, Washington.

We are getting ready to go back into the studio to record. We are going to try to make this more of a “live” recording and maybe capture some of the magic that happens on stage. Can’t say for sure when it will be done but it will have some more original stuff on there as well as selected covers. We might have a bonus section of Merle Haggard tunes. Who knows for sure?

Everyone is doing fine and dandy and looking forward to a great bluegrass season.

Jim
