Into the Gloom

Filed under: Uncategorized — fadman @ 10:21 pm

This is about my least favorite time of the year. We are two weeks from the Winter Solstice and of course we have two dark weeks on the other side of the Solstice. Even then the days don’t get THAT much longer and January is a cold, cold month, at least up here in these parts. And don’t forget the Christmas music that blasts from every set of speakers in every store. If you enjoy it more power to you.
But to get out of the gloom all I have to do is look at the upcoming schedule and that pretty much brightens me up. So far we have about 15 shows lined up for the spring and summer and there are others that will be added. We look forward to all of them but next summer we will travel farther for a festival than ever before-near Winnipeg, Manitoba. That will be a ROAD TRIP! Across Montana and NODAK then north to the Prairie’s Edge Festival.
But to kick off the year we have the Oregon Bluegrass Association Gospel Show coming up January 20 in Portland. We’re proud to be part of this event, which is actually 3 shows spread out over various parts of Oregon. And then the following week we travel to Mountain View, Californy to play for the Redwood Bluegrass Associates. I’m looking forward to that because I have family and old friends that will be coming to the show, and that never happens because of the distance between us. Anyway, whether you see us at the beginning of the year, the end or somewhere between, we hope to see all of you next year.

Jim
